Lens Paper & Rubber Bulb Blower
This kit includes: Lens paper and small bulb blower. These two items are ideal for cleaning optical lenses and can be used for microscope, camera, etc.
First, try to locate the dirt or smudge that needs to be cleaned. This can be done by looking through the microscope to see if the spot is on all objectives or just one. If it is visible on all the objectives then the spot is likely on the eyepiece or inside the tube. It is not recommended to remove the tube or to take off the objectives as this can allow dust to settle inside. To determine if the spot is on the eyepiece or inside the microscope, see if you can rotate the eyepiece in the tube and notice if the spot or smudge rotates with it.
- Once you located the spot use the rubber blower to blow off any dust.
- Then using the lens paper try to gently rub the eyepiece or objective with the lens paper to remove the residue. You always want to use lens paper as it is lint free and will not leave fibers behind.
- If the spot is persistent you can moisten the lens paper with rubbing alcohol and clean the eyepiece or objective. You do not want to use water, as this can get inside the eyepiece or objective and give you a cloudy look from the moisture.
